Where There's Bikers There's Mom?

Last night I was on my way to the grocery store and my cell phone rang.

"Hello?"

It's my oldest daughter ...

"Hey Mom. What are you doing?"

"Going to the grocery store. What are you doing?"

"Going to the lake. Are you in town?"

"Yeah I'm in Malvern."

"No. Are you in Hot Springs?"

"Ummmm no. I'm going to the grocery store in Malvern."

"Ooooh ok. Well, I'm on my way to the lake and there's a whole bunch of bikers here so I thought you might be in town and I was going to come by and say hi."

Funny thing is she's not the only one that thinks this.  My mom called a few weeks ago and said I know what you did yesterday.  I said "Really?" ...oh no, did I make the news and not know it! She said "Yeah, there was a motorcycle event going on in such and so.  I bet you wonder how I know."  Now I'm thinking ...did she find my Facebook page.  Turns out she saw a website that had motorcycle events, but no, I wasn't there either. I was at my surprise birthday party that my ole man threw me!

The Arkansas H.O.G. Rally started yesterday in Hot Springs and will be going on all weekend and no, I won't be there which brings me back to the conversation with my daughter.

       "Why aren't you there?"

"That's just a rally for a bunch of yuppies with too much money."

       "Nice :) Love you Mom."

So I know I'm the first to bitch about someone dogging someone else, but hey, I'm not perfect all the time!

The Hot Springs Rally is coming up September 9th and I'll probably be there. Tickets are $25 for the rally and for $20 more you can go to the concerts or you can spend $30 and just go to the concerts. I checked out their website and saw 38 Special is going to be there!  Last year we didn't even make it to the actual rally, there were plenty of other things going on around town.  So we'll probably be there or at least in the general vicinity!

Show them through me. When they feel like giving up, You're all they need. Show them through me. Let me be a light, so they can see.
Here I am. Like You said I'd be, crying for my Father please come rescue me. From this trouble that's blinded me. Let Thy will not mine be done, just quickly.
And show them through me. When they feel like giving up, You're all they need. Show them through me. Let me be a light, so they can see.
Peace. Be still. Rejoice and wait with me in my Father's love and truth. He told me that my salvation would comfort me. It's a peace that passess all my understanding.
So show them through me. When they feel like giving up, You're all they need. Show them through me. Let me be a light, so they can see.
Just let me be their light, so they can see. -music and lyrics written by Annette Burkett (Play Song)
